Installation — what the technician does
- Finds a mounting spot with a clear line of sight to the satellite — usually a terrace parapet, outside wall or balcony railing. This is the step that decides whether your picture survives heavy rain, so he will not just pick whatever is convenient.
- Fixes the mount, attaches the dish and LNB, and aligns for signal strength.
- Runs the cable to your television and connects the box.

It is your viewing balance. The full Rs 3,600 goes into your own Tata Play account and you spend it on whichever monthly pack you pick. We do not hold it.
Then what am I paying for the box and the installation?
Nothing. Because the whole amount comes back as balance, the set-top box, dish, LNB, remote, cabling and the installation visit carry no separate charge.
How long will the balance last?
Depends on your pack. Around 12 months on a Rs 300 pack, about 14 on a Rs 250 one, roughly 8 on a Rs 450 one.
Do I have to pay the whole Rs 3,600 online?
No. Rs 399 online books the connection and the balance is paid at your doorstep after it is delivered and installed.
How soon will it be installed?
Dispatch is within 24 to 48 hours, and the technician installs and activates the connection during that visit.
Will the connection be in my name?
Yes. It is activated in your name at installation, so the account and the balance belong to you.
Is there a warranty?
One year on the new connection. Remotes purchased separately are not covered by it.
Can I get a refund after installation?
No. Installation and activation are the point of no refund. Cancel before installation and you are refunded less 12%; if we cannot provide the service you get 100% back.
